about

Miles Zurawell's debut solo album, supported by some of the Pacific Northwest's greatest instrumentalists in bluegrass and old-time, introduces Zurawell's unique voice on dobro and banjo. Far Afield is an exploration of diverse fiddle tunes on the dobro and banjo, while keeping with the melodic bluegrass and old-time approach that has become indicative of the Pacific Northwest. Ranging from quiet and contemplative to soaring and driving, Zurawell's original compositions sit alongside tunes from Quebec, Metis, Hawaiian, western swing, Appalachian and bluegrass backgrounds.
